President & Senior Industrial Designer
Miles Hammond is a creative and experienced Industrial Designer and is the owner of Studio 63, a small and agile design studio and workshop based in Ottawa, Canada. The spirit of fun and focus extends to Miles’s love of water and winter sports. Miles designs and sells his own range of stand up paddle boards (Hammond Boards) which are frequently to be seen on Ottawa’s lakes and rivers (and increasingly can be found further afield). Miles was instrumental in the building up of an entirely new speaker company GoldenEar Technologies, designing the entire range of award winning speakers that continue to rock the audio industry. He has also worked alongside Julian Fillion for many years designing groundbreaking kite-boarding equipment. After training at Carleton University, Miles began working as an Industrial Designer in June 1999. Over the years he has won over 40 different design awards and has eight patents to his name.
Ivan Graduated from Carleton University's Industrial Design program in 2015 and is an Industrial Designer at Studio 63. "Many products in today's society rob us of more visceral experiences. I strive to create products which have personality and facilitate more meaningful relationships with their respective users. Well designed products have the power to move people on an emotional level and become much more than an assembly of parts."
